Planning Your New Bathroom?
The world maybe going simpler in its taste of design, but the bathrooms in our times are certainly gaining more and more attention as they evolve into sophistication and grandeur. Be it the lay of custom designed hand rubbed fittings or the array of polished stones under the bright light fixtures. Therefore, if you believe in applying your lifestyle tags in everything around you, the latest bathroom furniture and musings can go onto to let you do lots of tinkering and experimentation with your new bathroom proposal, with a full assurance that your new bathroom gets all the attention, it deserves.
Other than its urbane theme and jazzy construct, bathrooms are getting more space in our housing designs. However, the incremented space is also using lots of dressing closets, gym equipments and cabinet space. Incase you have recently designed the layout for your new bathroom; and plan to start the construction; the first thing you would do is make sure it stays as new as possible. While there are more than enough things, you could do to keep your new bathroom all gleaming, years on. The most basic thing to do shall be the cleaning of your new bathroom so that you could maintain the sheen that comes on most of its paraphernalia. The whole quip is to clean little and clean regularly.
The toilet seat, the rim and sink can use a daily wipe and disinfection. It shall go for the windows and the mirrors as well. For disinfection and cleaning, you need not use strong solutions all the time. A concentrated solution of white vinegar can keep your toilet from collecting too much of lime scales, which would otherwise ruin the lower inside of your toilet seat. The shower cubicle walls can use car wax polish with a light hand, while your shower curtains shall go for a mild wash occasionally.
Make Solar Panels at Home and Save
Saving on your electricity bill is one of the main reasons that people are looking at alternative energy. Solar panels are becoming the easiest way to reduce your power bill while still being able to do your bit for the environment.
Now that they have become so common place, you would think that the price would go down, but it has not. The demand far outweighs the supply and there is still a lot of reasons for the fuel companies to want to keep the prices high. The advantage of this technology being used everywhere is that the components are now very easy to locate and with the internet, you can now find various solar panel do it yourself instruction manuals.
Where to start
First you need to assess if you are going to benefit from solar energy even before you start your project. Although thousands of people are benefiting, there are a few who just don’t live in the climatic regions that are going to be able to take advantage of this technology.
If You Can Go Solar – What Then?
The next step is to find the right solar panel instruction manual for you. The ideal one should include documentation on how to receive tax credits for the installation of such a system as well as easy to follow instructions on how to build them. Video tutorials are also extremely helpful and a full component list is vital.
Sourcing Cheaper Materials
Although all the components you are going to need are easily located in your hardware store, you should consider finding cheaper materials to build your panels with. There are a variety of sources including online auction sites that will help to reduce your costs even further.
Concrete Slab Foundation For Shed
Like your house, a wooden storage shed must sit on a foundation. Of the two most common types of foundations, that being the concrete slab and the wooden skid foundation, the slab is somewhat more elaborate. The concrete slab foundation for shed is also known as a slab-on-grade foundation. The slab foundation will be discussed in this article.
The concrete slab, when used as the floor of a storage shed, will be 3.5 to 4.5 inches thick with a perimeter or footing of 8 to 12 inches thick. The depth of slab, the type of metal reinforcement, the amount and type of gravel used for the sub-base and also the type of moisture barrier used can vary depending on local building codes. Generally the entire slab foundation can be poured all at one time using a wood form. When used in cold weather climates slab-on-grade foundations can only be used for detached sheds. The foundation, because it sits above ground is susceptible to frost heave in cold weather. If the building was attached the frost heave could cause damage to the attached building.
The concrete floor slab of the shed requires quite a bit of concrete so it is beneficial to have it delivered by cement truck to the backyard work site by a local ready-mix company. Most ready-mix companies have a one yard limit before they will deliver. Air-entrained concrete wears best for an exterior slab and the ready-mix company will mix it for you if you inform them of how it is being used. If you are pouring a smaller slab you can rent a concrete trailer from a rental store or landscaping company. The concrete trailer is towed by car or truck with one yard of cement already mixed and you pour it yourself.
